Cameron’s EU deal could never have satisfied the tabloids on immigration

The proposed EU deal on migration was never going to satisfy those that wanted a complete end to free movement or ‘complete control’ over immigration but, by rolling back the rules on free movement and citizenship in favour of the nation state, it could reassure undecided voters that the system is fairer and safer.
